Holi Hai
March 15th, 2006 by Archana
You wake up early on that day with excitement… get all dressed up in one of your old clothes… sneak into your parents bedroom and apply colour on your parents face while they are still asleep…and wake them up by suddenly shouting ‘Happy Holi’ in their ears… you knock your neighbour’s door but they don’t open ‘coz your hands are all coloured… you go back home clean your hands n knock on everyone’s door… you trick them saying ‘mom sent these sweets’ … sneek in to your friends room slowly n shout ‘Happy Holi’ and colour their face… you wait on the stairs for your friends to gather… drag all the people out who are afraid of holi … throw water balloons filled with colour from your balcony on the people and hide immediately so that they don’t complain to your parents… your parents shout at you to go out and play ‘coz you are messing up the whole house with holi colours.
Holi is one such festival which i love a lot. When I was a kid, all my friends used to bring colours to the school ., esp on saturday ‘coz we had white uniform and at the end of the school we all used to play, get all coloured and at home I used to get scoldings from my mom. ‘Now who’s going to wash this uniform? ‘ n she would say ‘ you are not playing tomorrow’ . That night I wouldn’t eat anything n next morning me n my sister would wake up early and colour my parents faces n my grandma used to call us ‘ Breakfast ready’. { we all lived together} All the kids gathered on the stairs to have breakfast, play till noon , take a shower and get ready n sit in front of the T.V and wait for the ‘Mahabharat’ episode to
start. But as years passed by people started to loose interest in playing holi. It was just me, my sis, cousins n friends… we still continued that spirit untill my 10th Board Exams started.. that was the first time i didn’t celebrate. And since then every year I used to curse the Board of Education for not letting me celebrate Holi. Even if i did, that lasted only for an hour ‘ coz i had to prepare for my exams!
I still remember, when we were kids ..we used to request our grandpa to come and play with us.. but he always used to refuse since he dosen’t like Holi.. he used to sit in the chair and watch us play..the only chance we had was when he gets into the house, we used to walk slowly behind him without making any noise and pour a bucket full of coloured water on his back and run like hell so that he wouldn’t catch us and hide somewhere behind the trees or get into the crowd. After taking shower, we were scared to step into our grandparents house. We used to ask our cousin to see what grandpa was doing.
It was fun and I still cherish those sweet memories.
Anyways, here’s me wishing you all.
Fun kabhi na ho low
May joy n laughter brighten you everyday.

@Sudeep -Absolutely!! I think it is so important to celebrate here so that our second generation gets a taste of what we are about
@Prasanna - sure would help out! check out the server on which you are hosting. Does it support xmail or zmail? Did you buy support for it? That is the most important point. Also, when you install, there is wp-config.php file which contains your email information. please double check it to see if it looks right.

I have seen the wp_config.php file
I didn’t find the email address info… Please help to edit it properly.
I have CPanel Hosting When i click webmail - There are 3 menu’s
Neomail, Hordemail, squirrelmail
I don’t know wht is xmail or zmail?
Where can i check whether it supported it or not ???
Thank You !
