I stepped into the united states right during the bust of the dot com boom bubble in 2000. I could not believe it when I heard stories of start up companies, formed in suburban garages with next-to-junk computers, that took over the global software scene and shook the wall street audience out of their slumber before eventually going down the slope with an equally torrid pace!

Bay area is one of those bee hives which was literally smoked to obliteration until all the bees were driven out and the honey squeezed, I heard. But then, the bees never stopped working. Venture capital investments in the valley consistently grew every year after 2000 and are still doing so. So, the rebellious drones of the valley re-grouped, got better at the art of making cool, new and mind-blowing software but this time, they are increasingly being mindful of making software that sells, regardless of their company’s age, location and background!

However, there is a ton of questions that bother every ‘I wanna be an entrepreneur’ type of engineer!

Starting with the birth legalities of a startup to the point of marketing the product to reach the right audience at the right time while spending the right amount of marketing dollars, managing a product’s life cycle along two parallel tracks (code and sales) is not child’s play - but has become the norm of the day! This is the kind of stuff that Micro - ISV seeks to help wanna-be entrepreneurs with!

With a foreword from Joel Spolsky (the ‘foglight’ dude), this is a worthy read!
