Google launched a few interesting products as well as feature upgrades in the last few weeks. First of all, Google Gears was launced officially at the Google DevDay 2007. Google Gears is an open source technology for creating offline web applications and it accomplishes this by installing a local database store that can communicate with the applications running on our local browsers. Second of all, it looks like Google may have silently slipped in facial recognition features into its image search, as a logical extension to the recent upgrades it made to Picasa after purchasing Neven Vision.
Google Gears uses Javascript APIs to store and serve application resources locally through a fully-searchable relational database. The API includes, beyond other things, support for asynchronous Javascript calls which might make the synchronization and the toggle between offline and online states a lot less painful to the end user of the application. Right now, Google Gears is being supported for Firefox 1.5+ and Internet Explorer 6.0+ under the Windows XP/Vista, Mac OS X 10.2+ as well as the
Chocolate is something which we take for granted. It is something we can practically get whenever and wherever we want. But does anybody truly know where it comes from?
Recently I have written a case study on this issue. While discussing this case in the class, I was surprised to know that out of 40 students only 2 knew about chocolate slavery ( before reading the case i mean)
Here is a fact: Over 40 percent of the world’s conventional chocolate (i.e. non-organic and non-Fair Trade) comes from Côte d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast), where the International Labor Organization (ILO) and US State Department have reported widespread instances of child slavery. Exploitation of cocoa farmers and farm workers is the global norm in the chocolate industry, rather than the exception. The largest chocolate manufacturers like Hershey Food Corp., Mars, Inc., Nestle USA, Kraft Foods admitted to the media that they were aware of these conditions.
TMZ received an interesting Video claiming that Sanjaya, the American Idol top 8 Contestant, was a fake and that his real name was Bill Vendall and that this project was part of an art installation.
It might be highly possible to trust this video and that Sanjaya is a fake, if the voice was even remotely similar to Sanjaya himself to begin with. Then, this Sanjaya fake dude seems to just LOOOVVVEE his glasses so much that he does not want to take em off.
The video may after all be true and Sanjaya may be fake after all ! If it is true and Sanjaya is infact a fake, then it only shows how right the “Vote Sanjaya Off” campaign was in hating his smile, his hair and girls crying for him and in asking people to vote him off !
If it is not though, it once again shows how receptive we are to entertainment that does not jibe with their tastes and to what extent a seat in a reality Television show can rip the identity of a passive minority (even though he is as American as everyone else).
Punjab has always been a land where peace existed but only by numerous agreements and compulsions.Slightest provocation could possible throw the state of functionality and that has what happened in the past one week .The violence between the hardline sikhs and the more liberal Deras has put the state out of control .
Of all that interests me is todays statement by Sikh head priest giving deadlines .
22 May : Apology from the Dera swami or State wide bandh ,considering that the state has very very rarely gone on strike that too from akali dal
27 May : All dera establishments removed ,and lands vacated .
30 May : cases against the dera head ,handedover to CBI .
else suicide bombers arranged to vacate deras.
The point i want to ask is Who are the sikhs to ask deras to abandon their faith .For a country that boasts of secularity and democracy ,can anyone force people to abandon their religion or faith ? What would happen if the sainiks in mumbai would call for a strike demandng removal of all darga’s ? can we give it in to them ? .wont it be a failure of democracy ?? .
and using violence to achieve this is even more insulting to our constitution .Right and wrong can always be argues but Faith and religion are best to individuals themselves and attempt to force on the issues will only provoke emotional responses and leading to terrible violence all over .
The next few days will be interesting how things roll out .Will the government have the guts to stand up and preserve the democracy or will it indulge in petty politics and try to remove the deras.Remember it was the dera community that voted against akali dal and supported congress in the previous elections .

Krishna: Junk mail is just junk mail. It has no connection
with Hardware. However, it is another matter that it overloads the system… fills up the hard disk….but you are not supposed to worry about it. Listen Kunti putra, the way Aatma leaves one physical body and moves onto another, likewise these junk mails move from system to system.
Arjun: How can one define junk mail?
