A Sheep for a Poodle

Now that’s a scam! A friend sent me this link today morning..

Thousands of Japanese have been swindled in a scam in which they were sold Australian and British sheep and told they were poodles, The Sun newspaper reported today.

Flocks of sheep were imported to Japan and then sold by a company called Poodles as Pets, marketed as fashionable accessories, available at $1,600 each.

That is a snip compared to a real poodle which retails for twice that much in Japan.

The scam was uncovered when Japanese moviestar Maiko Kawamaki went on a talk-show and wondered why her new pet would not bark or eat dog food.[]

It was funny but it sort of left me thinking about the things we do to convert our connections to currency and , as we grow old, reverse this very same process.

Apparently, this one is a hoax.

MSN reported on this one recently and added that it may be hard to quote ‘what goes on in an entertainment channel as news’.

Also, most Japanese who heard of this report were sort of like “what the heck”..coz sheep apparently are not THAT new to japan.
