Its a happy day ,i got through to my first job in the campus .Its not the best job that comes in the campus but there is no other feeling like sitting early and get through to a first job . I cant reveal the names yet ,iam not supposed to .Thats what the college rules say .
My representative told me may be if i can wait for the bigger companies to come than sitting too early .But somehow when you have decided to do an mba ,i think placements are only going to be a backup .Get a job early and slog for CAT .Thats what i chose to do .
The selection process was very cool.A written test and about 40 % were selected for the next round (PI) and then finally they took some 18 students from all departments .And one thing that i was really happy about was that my interview lasted for around 160 seconds
. yes two HR questions like ” tell me about yourself ? ” and “Your short tem and long term goals ” and also one more ” Explain your dip from high schol marks to college grades
” I said ” I got to do more in college than a school and although there is a dip in my grades i find myself more confident with the grades and activities than just high school marks . and couple of tech questions. And he said ” You can leave ” . i was surprised ,i thought interviews went for a little longer and i was worried if i had messed it up and then he finally put this question ” We have only IT /tech work, is that ok for you ? ” and i knew i had this one
.
Now that i have cleared one =wish me luck for my CAT ,its the one i want to break .
Thanks a ton archie ,uday and loriz
dont forget to wish me for this one too

“Its amazing that at a time when people crave for publicity and aim to get the ‘bang for the buck’, here is a person who refuses to take in credit.” says kiruba .
He was one of the beneficiaries of the anonymous donor who donated $100,000 for icommons summit thereby helping close to 50 people attend it .
Read about that here

Nice to hear there are people who still dont mind helping out others without any returns

Yeah ! i remember one of my friend shagan telling me about this sometime ago.Every major company tries to be at least the second ranked in their field and that too only because they can’t buy out the first ranked.
It was always important to keep that leadership to survive .Google has always bought out bright startups and their founders loved it .But somehow now i feel skeptic about this whole process .
What is google trying to do by buying out so many startups ?
Bring their technology in to google perhaps but most of the products they have bought are in direct competition to their home products .
another question ,if they had similar products ,what is it that google was buying from the startups ?
their product or people. If its just people then isn’t it a bad news for the people who have fought so much for creating that product which so many have liked ?
I’m sure people will remember what happened with dodgeball founders. They opined that google killed their products.I fear the same might happen with feedburner and doubleclick. Both of which are in direct competition to google’s own advertising platform adsense.
Will google kill these products by not allocating time and resources to them ? so as to keep adsense the only and the leader in web advertising now that Yahoo’s panama hasn’t been a great success .
Google today is a huge brand and their ” Do no Evil ” is still true for most part of theirs but this fear just doesn’t go .
Its only time that can answer and i leave it upon it .

" my feelings were like those of Arjuna when he
killed Dronacharya, his Guru at whose feet he had learnt the art of war. But
the Guru had taken the side of the wicked Kauravas and for that reason he
felt no compunction in finishing his revered Guru. Before doing so, however,
he first threw an arrow at the feet of Dronacharya as a mark of respect for
the Guru, the second arrow he aimed at the chest of the Guru and finished
him. My feelings towards Gandhi were similar. I hold him first in the
highest respect and therefore on January 30, I bowed to him first, then at
point blank range fired three successive shots and killed him. "
Told nathuram godse in court .
This series i am getting to know from nukkad is very enlightening to say the least .No,we dont hate our mahatma gandhi but an insight in to the man who killed him is very important for us i believe .
Here is what nathuram godse ,the man who shot gandhi had to say in the court before being handed over death penalty for his act of crime.

well, atleast he was one of them. Gopal Godse is the brother of Nathuram Godse ,the man who actually shot gandhi.
In a rare interview to the media, he speaks about the assasination and according to him:
” Someone asked
me whether Gandhi said, "Hey Ram." I said Kingsley did say it. ”
